DD finds spelling/writing hard, homework can be something of a struggle, shall we say.
I was wondering about getting her a children's dictionary to help, rather than her coming every 2 minutes to ask whether she's spelt a word right. I have a suspicion that even knowing she had it there to refer to if needed might help (I've lent her my Welsh learners' dictionary to help with welsh language writing, but in practice only looks up a few words).
My question was 1) would that be a bad thing (could ask her teacher, but reluctant to hassle her yet more on the subject of dd's reluctant writing), and 2), is there a particular dictionary that is good for KS2?
Looking on Amazon I wasn't sure whether a straight children's dictionary would be best, or whether a spelling dictionary would be more useful. Any recommendations? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
