Just a few days to go now... and I have another question. One school I could apply to does as well as the other one, SATs but it has a higher value added number. What does this mean... I mean, what does it 1) actually mean and what does it 2) practically mean ,and how should i interpret this. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Should I be wary or pleased?

The school i like the best has a high intake of non english speakers etc. It seemed creative etc. and more socially diverse.
But my kids are going to enter 1) speaking english as a first language 2)either reading or well on the way to it. I'm happy for school all to be play abased, but at hthe same time I don't want them to be bored.

or am I getting everything muddled?

And if so, please help me sort it out!

Thanks.

The higher the value added (100+) the more progress the children have made since starting school (in theory anyway)

why 'in theory'. how can it be misleading?

because some schools play the politics game and low results in KS1 mean good Value added in KS2
