My 4 year old son has just started his 2nd term after the xmas break. he has not wanted to go to school and has started cying at school and today after dropping him off he cried for the 1st time when i left him. (last term he was fine and seemed to enjoy school) He told my mum that he was missed me and found the work difficult ( although he is doing well at school) the teacher seems to think that it is just a 'blip!' but i am concerned it maybe more. How can i talk to my son to get him to 'open up' more to find out if anything else or anyone is upsetting him? or could it just be the long holiday at home which has made him not want to go to school?? any ideas?? i hate to think of him upset at school and crying when i'm not there.

Think its quite normal for little ones to be a bit clingy and upset when they go back to school after a break. Doubt he cries all day, still can be harder on you than them!
