DS wants to give up his Saturday Language Class

He's done it for a year now and likes it its only 30mins but before Christmas he said he didnt want to continue said it was boring.

Asked him tonight and he said only if his friends continues, I dont think he is so he said no I dont want to go.

Im really upset as he is good, confident speaker and the teacher said he leads the class and is well liked.

I cant force him to go can I?

Not sure about classes on a Saturday, it should be a fun day.
You can't force him, it would be counter productive.
How about asking the school to run a lunch time group using your ds's language teacher?

school doesnt have an interest in MFL

The classes are fun, very oral, songs, puppets, games etc...

Wouldn't worry about it. DD2 gave up her Sat French class about a year ago because she said it was boring. A year later (now 6), she has decided to go back to it. I don't think it is worth forcing him to go, it will probably be counterproductive

IMHO parents make choices about children's education. Children always get 'bored' if something elsewhere looks more attractive in comparison. Whatever hobbies or clubs or classes children go to there comes a point when they would rather be doing something else, especially if their best friend is involved. Getting over the hump can be tricky but if you think learning a second languahge is worth while ( I do) then keep going!!

he was the one who wanted to go over football!
