What year is she in? Answering questions about a story is part of the curriculum. Do you mean more formal written answers in a booklet?

Benchmarking is a reading assessment where children read a short book or leaflet (depending on their level of reading) and there are verbal comprehension questions, nothing written.

So what does a score of 26 mean?

She is in year two

26 will mean she is on level 26 out of 30 levels. This is a very good result for first term in year 2. Keep reading with her at home and she will probably be a free reader by end of year 2.

So what does 26/30 mean in terms of national curiculum scores, you know 2c, 2b. And just out of interest what would 30/30 be.
