How different is the 2006 Primary Framework to now?

Am out of touch, but just came across some info re 2006 Primary Framework for Maths which details every item they would be expected to learn.

Has much changed or will the basics still be the same?

Thank you ladies. I know there are some maths teachers who can quickly answer this so I dont have to trawl through the internet.

The basics are the same, they still need to add, subtract, multiply and divide! The main differences were that many of the objectives came "down" the age groups, so in effect children were expected to "know" things much earlier, so for example "use > and < symbols "moved down from yr 4 to yr 2, nothing went up! I think there were a couple of new objectives, mainly for Reception children ( share objects into equal groups and measure time with non standard unitscome to mind) and the one that has most impact is that times tables need to be learnt earlier! A couple of objectives were worded slightly differently but nothing that would change what you would teach.

There was a figure, wasn't there, for the number of new documents we'd been subjected to in a year - wasn't it over 100 or something daft? Confused

I thought it was even dafter something like more than one a day Grin
