Collis or Hampton Wick Infants - Advice please

I am trying to make a decision at the moment between Collis and Hampton Wick Infants School in Teddington for my daughter to join reception next September. We are very lucky as we should be in both catchment areas apparently, and I know they are both very good schools. Can anyone offer me any insight to enable us to decide which one to put as our first choice? All advice gratefully received.

Both excellent-obviously Collis is bigger but if you can get in either you are lucky!

Both are great - my kids are at Collis but know of several who are v. happy at HW. It entirely depends where you live - sounds like you're pretty near me (also live somewhere that is lucky enough to fall between both). Good luck! J x

Have you checked out St john the Baptist as that might help sway your decission. Juniors will be upon you in the not to distant future

Both are excellent, we chose HW as it's smaller and much more personal and suits my son's personality better. Just go on open day and see what you think. You probably live near me too!

Both are lovely schools. It's simply a matter of deciding what suits your son/family more - a larger school or a smaller school.

Great - thank you all. I think we're inclined towards Collis, but my main issue with its size is whether there is more likely to be bullying, and if so, how it's dealt with. Do you have any thoughts on this?

You get bullying in schools of any size.

All Richmond Borough parents need to be aware that the council is looking to make some significant changes to Secondary Schools over the coming years, which could impact existing schools, so check out the thread: "New Secondaries for Richmond Borough" and join the debate. The council will hopefully listen to parents' views, but we can only engage in the process if we know what's going on.
