My junior school is trying to improve writing across the school and I know they are using Every Child a Writer.

Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Never heard of it but it sounds like a good policy.

Have you searched the internet - there should be policy statements somewhere

It is part of an intensive support programme launched by the previous government to raise literacy standards targeting children in KS2 nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/225544

My son has been picked as one of the 6 children to get individual teaching. I feel a bit sad that he needs it but pleased it's being provided. He's the youngest in the class, loves reading but finds writing really tough.

edoli - Is the extra help helping? Are you pleased with the progress he is making?

Do you know how far behind he was? And do you know how much individual teaching he gets?
