what level does yellow new way equate to in ORT

These are quite old books and they don't seem to be listed on the comparison sheet I've got.
Maybe someone else will know though.

I really liked the New Way books (they've been around since the 50s, used to be called The Gay Way then, and I read some of them).

I'm not sure of ORT or book band colour equivalence. There's a arch of the different colours in New Way printed on the back cover - where in the arch is yellow?

I 'be been trying to find out for you online. According to chat on TES forums, a child reading New Way blue at start of year 2 would be on track for a level 2b by the end of the year (presumably on a "higher" colour by then). According to an ORT equivalence chart, 2b is levels 7-10 ORT, and 2b is "Gold" in NC book bands.

New Way Gold, as the next stage up from blue, is probably at a similar level.

Ready to be shot down by other posters though, as I might have wrong assumptions in this!
