Yesterday in DD's bookbag I found a note which said it had been noted that Laura's DD was absent on 9th Sept afternoon! This has been noted as an unauthorised absence, please could you send a letter to DD's teacher to explain her absence................er yes I can. She was taken I'll during the school day and the school called me to take her home Hmm

How funny!!

Someone at school hasnt joined the dots up have they? I suspect if they had done the register 'reconciliation' straight away they would have recalled and not done anything, but it might have been done late and there was the blank

That is quite entertaining tho- a bit like the 'I dont care if you CAN see it on the shelf, the computer says there are none in stock'

I didnt think you were being rude or snotty at all, just that you found it funny- as I would and did.
Some people are just determined to take offense at things...

Who's making a fuss? I'm just making conversation that's all.

Happy to send a letter in, which I have done, but find it quite odd that I have to send a letter in confirming that DD was absent from school as she was ill because they informed me she was.

I am not making a fuss, not being rude, snotty or making a big deal of it to the school. I have done as they have asked, just wanted to share it with you thats all, no biggie Wink

I bet someone is the school office is doing the statistics for the school term and they just need written confirmation from you.

Like in most other organisations, communication between different departments in schools is not always perfect.

I love the suggested replies! Definitely think you should send em in word for word. Including the love and kisses! Grin

Shock horror - human being makes mistake!

I do think this is bizarre - why are people using words like "idiot" to describe someone who has made a mistake?
