When is the dates for letters confirming school place for 2011/12?

Hi all, my dd is 3 next year and I have applied directly to a primary school for a preschool place for her so I am not taking part in the general LAE milkround and haven't got a grip on what dates letters informing parents of school places are sent out. I am sure there is a difference in terms of particular LEA's etc so month you expect your answer would be fine (i.e. is it january, february or later into the next year)? Thanks for any help!

For a place in reception our la informs in march/April but for a place prior to that in the nursery class they inform in May by phone call from the school then letter from the school. They do it that late because they like to have all the reception places sorted before they move on to the preschool nursery class place allocations.

Oh okay, good to know, thank you. It will be murder to wait that long!
