Possibly moving north in a few months and have found a village with good schools. Phoned the LEA who states that, unsurprisingly, that no places are available for in-year admission. As all the other schools are over-subscribed, the nearest with a place is 4 miles away! LEA said that I could appeal if my application failed to get a place in one of the local schools. Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience or knew what reasonable distance is, as don't really want to move if my daughter has to travel 4 miles twice a day.
