I had a call from the head today "to let me know that DS2 had not been involved in an incident"

According to the head DS2 had been playing with another boy, near the school fence, piling up leaves and throwing them in the air.

During the course of this game, a van parked on the other side of the fence had it's window broken by a stone.

Head told me that they were 100% certain it was not DS2, but the other boy who was responsible, but that he wanted me to know in case DS2 was worried.

DS2 is a worrier, but is so not worried by this. He also tells me it was a girl!

What went on at school that the head thought he needed to tell me/ that DS2 would be worried?

Was he expecting me to do anything?

I thinks its called being pro-active. Imagine hoe worried you would be if your ds came home and said I had to see the headmaster because a car window got broken

Agreed.
I got called by school one lunchtime to say that the injury looked worse than it was.....
Which was lucky cos at 3.25 DS had a black eye, cut at the corner of his eye and bruised nose.
Some day he will stop running while looking over his shoulder!!

He rang to pre-empt your child coming home with a garbled version of events (probably delivered at high speed and in a completely illogical order - as is usual when they recount this sort of stuff) and you worrying that it was him putting a windscreen out and worrying you'd give him a right telling off for it!
