Hi,

Can anyone with knowledge of the Scottish system tell me where I can find details of how local schools are performing? Can't seem to find anything for Fife schools.

Thanks.

HMIE?

i don't think such a thing exists but if you want to find out about particular schools in Fife, try the council website www.fifedirect.org.uk

Agree with suzikettles HMIe has all the reports there. It will give you an idea how the schools individually are doing.

Well the HMIe report for the school tells you how it's performing based on set criteria. Also whether better or worse than schools of a similar type nationally.

It's the equivalent of the OFSTED reports in England.

As Suzikettles link - check out the last inspection reports on HMiE website. Will give you a good idea about the schools.

remember too that the HMIE reports can be a few years out of date.
My DS's school had a report on there that was 7 yrs old, and the most recent one just appeared a few months ago. The recent one was amazing, the older one was pretty poor, so the schools have often improved greatly compared to their most recent report, IYKWIM
