I have a 7 year old with a reading age of a 12 year old. We are struggling to find books suited to her reading age yet at the same time suitable for a 7 year old. Presently she likes typical boy books -anything slimey, silly or funny. Any ideas much appreciated.

Please don't forget Benjamin Zephaniah's poems and books. 'Face' is a must.

I don't have any links, but I've often noticed lists of books for young advanced readers on Amazon Listmania. Have a look there.

Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson books.

Michael Lawrence's Jiggy McCue books (e.g. The Toilet of Doom).

Horrible Science.

Horrid Henry.
