Please tell me it'll get better -cold after cold after cold

My son has started school this year. I have three children and we have been inundated with cold after cold after tummy bug after cold and on our second tummy bug. I have a newborn and I am breastfeeding and I have never been so sick in my life. Apart from the newborn, the others seem to recover quickly, but it knocks me out for six.

Does this ever get better ? If so, when? I'm exhausted.

Ha!

I am off with a sickness bug from work with two DC recovering from it (i think this one came from pre-school!) and a husband who also has it but he has not made it out of bed yet today!!! I've been wondering who gets to look after me. Wink

Mine are 3 and 5. It does get better (or you just get used to it, not sure which yet). I can remember having a sickness bug when breastfeeding DD as a baby. I can honestly say I felt like a dried up husk, so totally know what you mean.

I know its hard to do but try and make time to take care of yourself to help speedy recovery...

Lydwatt - thanks for the well wishes.

Mummy always comes last in the pecking order, doesn't she ?!

Wishing you all a speedy recovery too. Smile

There is a really really nasty cold type thing going the rounds this year as well (it's felled tonnes of teachers which is quite rare!). I've had the wretched thing four weeks now and can't shift it which isn't like me at all!

We currently have a quarter of the school off sick, a combination of those with severe coughs and colds ( including me, I've had to have my first sick leave day in 4 years!) and those with vomitting , we sent 7 home today ( and we only had 70 in altogether!)

did your eldest go to preschool or nursery? That toughens them up so to speak! At least your younger ones get a better immune system from the older sibling being at school so it should get better.
When doctors do their training, they all dread doing Paediatrics because its a known fact that kids make you ill!
And sicky bugs - well I reckon on having at least one a year caught off the kids!
Last year, I caught one which co-incided with me having a hugely heavy alcoholic weekend, so I was already dehydrated..... ended up in A&E on a drip!

Get well soon
