Teachers how do I improve ds's handwriting when he forms all his letters correctly and has reasonable fine motor skills?

I'm an ex teacher myself but I'm stumped.

Do I just do daily handwriting practise anyway?

He's left handed but is a bright boy doing well, was just a tad shocked seeing his spider scrawl at parents evening. Don't want it holding him back.

He writes a lot neater at home, obviously I'm not there to nag him at school. He has a fab teacher but I know what 7 year old boys are like.Wink

You could try looking into "the magic pencil" stuff, DD is not left handed, but I found it very useful for her,

the way its done, looking at it I think it would work well for either left or right handed, & I remember DH, who is left handed commenting on it, that he wished it existed
when he was a kid......Example in the link
