Know anything about St. Andrews Prep, Woking?

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone has had any experience of St. Andrews Prep School in Woking? My DS is due to start Reception next September and we went to see it. We really like it but it's always good to hear honest opinions from first/second-hand experience.

It sounds silly but one of my concerns is whether we will fit in as a 'family'. We are not posh, live in an average house, drive a Ford Focus and I'm not really into designer clothes or handbags!!! We are considering private for our son as he has some mild issues and would benefit greatly from the smaller class sizes. I've heard horror stories from people about cliques amongst mums and a pressure to have a certain lifestyle. I also don't want my DS to feel like he doesn't belong because he doesn't go skiing or get the latest computer for Christmas. The feeling I got from St. Andrews was that it isn't like that but the Head would say that wouldn't he!!!

Any feedback on St. Andrews (not just about the other parents!) would be welcome. Smile

All I know is there was some unpleasant gossip a log time ago (all over with before my kids were even born). And that a friend of mine got a lot of pupils for there for French tuition.

The preps around here aren't terribly posh. Actually a friend had her son at one of the poshest and fitted right in, and she is not posh at all. (She moved him because of the recession and the drive was killing.)
