DS has gone from being bullied to being naughty

Hi,

Had lots of niggling probs with ds (5, yr1) recently since starting term in september.

Basically, through the reception year, he loved it and was fine at school with the odd person being rough to him now and again but never being called in by teacher etc.

This yr though, it started terribly with skipping ropes being used to hurt him and boys kicking him. Now though, he's being told off for not abiding by the rules. Today, he went to the toilet in the playground ShockBlush.

We don't like the school as they've been weak on issues such as bullying and our children being hurt but now, the teacher has asked to me to stay in the playground after pick up 3 times in 3 weeks!

Do you think it's the transition from reception to yr 1 that's starting this off and what shall I do? His daddy is away in the week (he misses him desperately and blames me for him not being here; mostly not doing as he's told at home)and at weekends, he just wants to be with him. Any ideas as to what to do? I chatted to him after each incident and have told him the golden rules about how to behave and what I and the school expect of him.

Going to the loo in the yard sounds like he is going through some serious emotional distress...unless he's a bit weak already in the potty area...is he normallygood with waiting for a wee? Could he hae been afraid to go to the toilets because of bullying?

Make an appointment to tak to his teacher asap...if no joy consider moving him...what plans have they got in place to deal with the bullying? Weeing in the yard at 5 points to distress to me...not naughtiness.

Fine in toiletting area mash
Think they were playing a game. Someone picked their nose, he did a wee....

I think perhaps he's trying to fit in. His best friend is a girl and they stick to each other like glue so maybe when the boys ask him play, they egg each other on?
