Hello To Everyone!
This is my very first time on mumsnet. I really need some advice and help on choosing primary/infant school for my 3 year old son who will start next year.
I am in the process of doing my son's application but I am struggling with making choices of which schools to apply for.
Can anyone give me advice please?

Where are you in Barnet? Which schools are close to you? It is a large borough!

I've heard Northside is a really nice school. Only one form entry and you may be in the catchment area - check their website. Moss Hall is supposed to be good too but bigger - three forms.

Some excellent schools to choose from, some religious.

Non-denominational: Frith Maner, Moss Hall
Catholic: St Theresa's, Sacred Heart
COE: St Mary's,
Jewish: Akiva

Most of the schools are really good in Barnet. If you're interested in SATs results, check out the results on the BBC Education website. You can search by Postcode too.

Sorry - can't help: I am in the Barnet part of the Borough. Have you visited any of the schools around you? Are you happy with the one closest to you?

Good luck; this is a horrible time - even worse as you don't find out until April!

Frith Manor and Moss Hall have small catchments. At Frith the head shows you a map of where last years' entry children live when you go on a tour. Make sure you put down a school that you are in the catchments for - visit them all to see what you think for your child. I have friends who live in Finchley Central who ended up being allocated no school as they only put schools not in their immediate area. One went private in the end another got Charlgrove (sp?) and when I last saw her, was very happy with it. St Marys has a good reputation too.

Hi everyone, I am new to Mumsnet, looking for some advice on Moss Hall junior school. We are considering buying a hosue near Moss Hall junior school, does anyone know anything about this school beyond the Ofsted? How do I find out whether this house is in the catchment? What is great / not so great about the school? tx
