DS is in Year 2 and in the end of his Year 1 report he got above average in spelling and science and average in everything else (class average not national). His Year 1 teacher said that he was at the top end of the average group in all subjects.
Anyway 3 weeks into Year 2 and he has said that twice this week he has had to go out of class with the TA because he didn't understand the question. The first time was for maths and then yesterday it was literacy. He said it was because the teacher wasn't explaining it properly and she had to keep stopping to tell other children to be quiet. His teacher is an NQT.
Anyway, just wondering if I am worrying unnecessarily that DS is finding the work too difficult or if there could be another rational explanation.
He has parent's evening next week so I will obviously ask his teacher then but just wanted another opinion in the meantime.
