Forest School glove advice anyone?

Can anyone help? We're just starting FS and would like to buy some fleecy lined waterproof gloves for the children to wear in the winter. Any ideas? Ta

i have never seen this type of glove, for children, with fingers, so i will watch with interest

Would adult size 8 gloves be small enough? work wear type places may sell a 460 thermal insulated waterproof safe handling glove. ( bright orange).

Or cheap kids ski gloves.

muddyfaces are a FS shop. I get my own kids stuff from littletrekkers who often seem to have sales. we also get a skiwear4less catalogue through the door which has a website - dare2b clothing seems quite cheap but not bought anything from there.

If you are doing FS, what kind of gloves do your children use in the winter?

Ski gloves seem very thick and cumbersome, woolly gloves would be horrid in the wet (i.e. as wet as today, when the thought hit me!) and fleecy gloves would also get wet inside.

my toddler uses the mitten gloves, and my 7 y o just wears woolly gloves
it isn't nice in the wet but he doesn't care much

can't you just fashion some out of leaves adn bark?

I adore wrist cosys. I use them myself , or rather I use fold back mittens as wrist cosys. the purpose made item didn't seem to exist 12 yrs ago.

Wearing wool ( or wicking polyester) gloves would be Ok for limited time periods, they wick well. so if your active your hands don't get sooo cold , just wet.

As for ski gloves being clumsy- depend what your doing as to that being a problem, if your handling tools think hard before wearing any gloves. Bare skin grips better.
