Is it actually Bournemouth you want to live in or are you interested in the areas surrounding it as well ?

We re quite open minded. Don't want to be too far from sea though.

Where do you live and do you recommend ?

I'm about 9 miles outside Bournemouth in a quite large village. It does take about 25 mins to the beach though. Bournemouth/Poole etc are quite confusing with their different school systems.

I think Bournemouth is two tier ie, primary and secondary. Poole was 3 tier ie. First , middle and upper but changing to two tier. Ringwood is 2 tier, Christchurch as well, then Wimborne is three tier. Bournemouth and Poole both have Grammar schools.

It depends what you're looking for really ie. In town or more rural. In the middle of it in summer or wanting to be able to avoid tourists and sitting in traffic.

I have heard very good things about Twynham secondary school in Christchurch, near Bournemouth, quite nice beach too. The primary schools are good too

Bournemouth
good areas: southbourne, alum chine, durley chine, talbot woods, queens park

Poole
good areas: branksome park, sandbanks, lilliput, broadstone, lower parkstone, ashley cross

Christchurch

New Milton

Barton-on-Sea

Milford

What are you after? What's your budget house wise - there is a huge variation in money in the areas:

£180k for 3 bed in some
£1.5m for 3 bed in others.
