School shoes really scuffed - is there anything I can do?

Ds has only been at school for 5 days and the fronts of his shoes are really scuffed. Is there anything I can use to protect his leather shoes? I have just polished them so at least it hides the marks.

My kids' shoes seem to survive with a weekly polish with proper shoe polish and top ups during the week with the instant stuff if necessary. The proper polish seems to seal up the scuffs. The kids have outgrown the shoes before the shoes are near collapsing every time!!

really really bad scuffs - colour in with felt tip first before you polish! And keep using proper polish rather than the scuff cote stuff as often as you can - at least once a week - as it does protect the shoes more

I do the same as Seeline and that seems to work well. Every weekend I put a thick layer of black shoe polish and let it soak in for several hours followed by very energetic brushing till shoes shine. During week I apply self shine every day/other day depending on weather and state of shoes. This also makes the shoes quite waterproof.

Buy him Kickers - the ones where the sole comes out of the front of the shoe so they are less able to scuff up the front - have tried loads of different shoes, from Rhinos to Campers to Clarks and Startrite and Kickers last a whole term without looking crap - and DS is a little hard on his shoes to say the least.
