My DD has a complete and utter aversion to yogurt. She has never eaten it and can't tolerate other people eating it - she can't stand the smell, the look of it. She will run from a room and retch or actually be sick.
I thought she might grow out of it but she still has a horror of it, and also has a problem with some similar textures (soup for example).
She started primary school a few weeks ago, and next week will be their first time staying in for lunch. They went to the dining room this week to get accustomed I guess. They were all offered a snack, of either juice (she only likes water and milk), jelly (it contained pineapple, another no-no in her book) and yogurt (obviously not). She is now worrying about lunches at school. She wants packed lunches. But even packed lunch won't avoid the problem of seeing other people eat yogurt.
I don't know what to do? She is very very determined, and if something makes her feel sick she will STOP eating her own food, and go without.
SHe is NOT fussy in other respects - she loves fish and seafood and sushi and all types of meat and vegetables, not so good on fruit (the texture thing of plums etc also seems to horrify her), likes cheddar and parmesan, rice, potatoes, bread, eggs etc etc
I just am worried about her basically NOT eating at school, or being teased I guess, or just not being able to cope with lunchtime and it turning into a 'thing'
