will have a quick head count tomorrow as it seems huge but last year dd was 1 of 25 so maybe it's not that big Confused.
What sort of size is unworkable?
There is a full time TA, dd's TA for 20 hours and another SEN TA for 25 hours.

I have a HUGE class this year, the largest I have ever taught in my school, I have 27Shock

Small rural schools are the way to go, unfortunately everyone else seems to think so too and my school has risen from 52 children to 89 children during the time I have been here! We used to have 52 children split between three teachers ( I initially taught R/1/2 together and had 17Grin We now have 4 teachers. My current Yr 5/6 class is the largest in the school however, Yr 2's are in a single age class of 13!

DS is in Y2, they have had 30 in each year so far. This year he has the teacher a TA, A full-time SEN TA and a full-time TA for a child with medical needs, not educational.

I think 30 is too many.

Anything divisible by 4 is preferable Wink. 16 or 20 are the best numbers, I think. :)

'Anything divisible by 4 is preferable '
why? do they play a lot of bridge?

Shaz10 · 11/09/2010 14:13

I like 4 in a group, and 4 or 5 groups are best for a week's worth of work. :)

at brassband bridge circle

DD is in a class of 11 which works fine as they mix with another class of 11 for some of the lessons. So herform time is small and intimate but classes for music, science, games and maths are bigger

I read somewhere that 16 is perfect size but it was probably crap source and stuck in my head for reasons I can't recall
