Website recommendations for KS1 Children

I am looking for some good websites for my DDs (4 and 6) to have fun on (and ideally also learn stuff from!)

They have done the cbeebies one to death and also had lots of fun on the Disney fairies one where you can create their own fairy. DD1 goes on mathletics (funded by her school) which is fab for anyone who hasn't tried it.

Their favourite at the moment is the BBC 'Horrible histories', but I'd like them to spend less time on that as DD2 was lying in bed the other night shouting 'Bring out your dead!' after they'd been looking at the black plague section Grin

Just wondered if anyone can recommend any other good ones appropriate for their ages?

My DS1 is 5 and has enjoyedthis one for ages.

The ABC bit is really good for little ones (DS2 2.6 is now getting into it!) and DS1 loves the stories he can read himself and games.

It also helps them by letting them know where to click next etc/

It's American so you have the accent and the zee issue but if you can past that it's great! Well recommended.

(And fwiw DS1's reading has amazed me this year although not sure how much it has to do with this site Wink )

they look exactly the kind of thing I'm after mrz - thank you. I think my dd's will love that myths and legends one. Some of the earlier suggestions might be a bit young for my dds I think, but look good for DS1 who's 3.

I used it quite a lot with my Y2 class last year they loved it. Hopefully next year we can write our own.

DD1 is already in the process of writing her own Mrz, although I must say the storyline is a bit random Smile. Thanks so much for the other links!
