Foundation Phase Outcomes

My son's just finished ks1 (in Wales) so foundation phase outcomes are given. He had 5, 5 and 6. There was no explanation though as to whether this is below average, average or above! His school trialled the foundation phase so don't use NC levels at the end of ks1. What is the highest level of outcome?

My DD did not get any sort of outcome/grades/levels at all on her reception report. It was all narrative

It's only at the end of Key Stage 1/Foundation Phase/Infants that they get a levelled report. Before that you're just given an idea of their progress.

My son has just finished Reception and was given his foundation stage outcomes. We were told that 6 is the average for this age.

Moajab - the 6 you are talking about is an EYFS 6 (End of Reception), which is different to the 6 the OP is talking about which is for the end of Year 2 - which appears to be a Level 3 - which is well above average for the end of Year 2.

Well done little Mowgli.

We are talking about Wales where we work within the Foundation Phase which runs from 3-7 years.
