Speaking and Listening.

1b and 1c is average for year 1 - so you should be pleased. She is on track to get a full brace of 2s at the end of next year.

Here we consider 1A to 2C to be 'average' for the end of Year 1 as with 1 and a half sub levels of progress in a year that gives the 'average' 2B at the end of Year 2.

Speaking and Listening is very important. Many children now are coming into school with very narrow vocabularies - both for their own speech (active) and their understanding (passive). They cannot be expected to learn to read and write with a wide and varied vocabulary, if they don't have one.
