I got mine from Woven labels UK (online) and they were very reasonably priced, arrived in about 5 days and we're happy with them. I got the sew-in ones but they did iron on ones too.

here's the link

i write first names on all labels with a permanant black marker. it helps that my 3 are the only kids with their names in their school!

life is too short to be sewing or ironing labels!

MrsJohnDeere · 21/07/2010 09:44

I've gone for Cash's on the advice of those with much more experience in these matters. I'm told that iron-on ones come off pretty easily so am going to sew on.

Took about a week top arrive.

I use Cash's as well, though Clive Mark are quite good.

I sewed them on this year. I thought that it was worth it, it would only be once a year, etc. However, it's not. After a month, they need new this/that/the other. Then you find out that they need to leave this in school/take that for PE and you are sewing all bloody year!

I get a mix of labels now and sew/iron/stick when appropriate.

Get LOADS of sticky ones - they are good for all sorts. you will want to be labelling all little plastic tubs in lunchboxes, EVERYTHING>

A laundry marker pen is faster & easier!

Easy2name.com do brilliant stick-on labels in multi-coloured packs. Perfect for anything that's not fabric. Or Sharpies pens if you have neat writing.

And a nice rubber stamp is really smart for books - try Letterbox :-)

I'd second easy2name.com.

We've got sticky labels that do shoes, lunchboxes, things to go in for the theme table etc, and iron in labels for clothes - they seem to be holding well so far.

I also recommend easy2name - they have a mumsnet 10% discount too.

Mine are from Stuck On You

I got a value pack a while ago for each of my DTDs and they've gone on everything, from clothes to drinks bottles to bags and inside shoes. They've been through the wash numerous times, and also in the dishwasher, and none have ever come off. I tend to stick the clothing ones onto the label, and fold the ends round - it seems to have worked. They're just sticky ones, which you can press with an iron to make them extra stickable if you like.

I'd definitely recommend them.
