Heart stopper season 3

My dc, 12 has watched and loved the first 2 hearts toppers and can’t wait for season 3.
The season 3 sounds a bit “darker” than the others, potentially with lots of questions! Just wondering how others were thinking about this?

It will be - I think the key is to keep the dialogue open. Listen to the podcasts to get an idea what will be in this season. Have you read the books? It is definitely more grown up.

The plot will cover an eating disorder and be more sexual (but unlikely to be explicit as it's not that type of programme).

No I haven’t read the books and neither has my daughter ( wants to). I was planning to get the first 2 for her. Now I think I need to get them all and read them myself first to see what’s coming up. Good idea to listen to the podcasts too!

The books are all available for free on Webtoons. It won’t take you long to read it all.
Although there is more in This Winter and Nick and Charlie which are novellas.

My daughter used to be obsessed with Heartstopper a couple of years back but isn't at all anymore but I remember that it covers eating disorders and a lot about the main character's mental health which is quite dark and serious. I don't know if it is covered in this season but at one point the main character has to go to a hospital for help if I remember correctly. But for sexual scenes, I don't remember any being too bad?? And it isn't an explicit show
