Dd10 has an iPad. We’re going on holiday and have a long flight, she’s got kindle, pro create, and Disney plus. She’s not allowed social media or Roblox. Are there any safe games or apps I can put on there?

Minecraft. My ten year old is addicted. You can set it up so she can't link up with strangers.

Mine use Minecraft without talking to friends or strangers on creative mode so nothing scary in it.

my 9 year old loves taco world which is just creating characters/ decorating rooms etc - there are paid add ons but she knows I’d never say yes and has never asked! On a flight these wouldn’t work anyway

snake clash is popular here too and no chat/ talking just snakes eating other snakes!

I let my kid play some roblox games, they’re not all bad. Beeswarm is a good one. If you sign up for a roblox account as well and add your child as a friend you can enter the game she is playing and see what’s going on. Some games just involve drawing competitions. Last week i caught my teen daughter in a crossword game 🤣
Toca Boca is also fun, you can decorate your own house and go shopping or visit restaurants etc, it’s only one player so you don’t have to worry about other people turning up

dd 14 can't have public social media yet so i try to get her apps that are relatively "healthier" for her and where she can still get creative without worrying about comparing herself to her peers. Bought her apps like headspace, duolingo, we are luna period tracker, pro-create, dazz-cam x

For a flight, I would suggest one of the free “multipack” apps that give you a whole tonne of simple games. Our kids have one called 10000 offline games and it has really nice high quality versions of about 25 different games like block blast, minesweeper, wordle, etc etc. lots of variety and you don’t have to worry about it suddenly needing an internet connection to load the next set of content. Keeps our 8,10,12 yos busy for 8-10 hours pretty happily, but to be fair we keep them pretty starved of entertainment the rest of the year 😁

Minecraft is a big hit with kids of that age. It's a great game, I even enjoy playing it with my son. It does have an 'online' play side with chat ect but all of that can be disabled and you just play alone. Or you can play with a real life friend.

It's a great game but very consuming/addictive.

Another game I've just bought for my son is Stardew Valley. It's a very relaxing wholesome game where you run your own farm. No online shenanigans. Only coats a few quid, it's been a bit so far.

Geometry Dash is another hit game. Simple, cheap but popular at the moment.
