What phone does your year 6/7 child have?

As above really.
I've said DD can have a phone in year 6 for safety as we want her to start getting used to walking on her own (plan is to start with her walking to the car outside the school just out the gate and down the road for about 1-2 minutes and then build up to further distances) in preparation for secondary school.

What type of phone do your children have? I'm definitely not looking at anything top of the range, I've had a look with my provider and can see an IPhone 11 for £20 a month. Just need something half decent so I can use find my iPhone or similar to see where she is, and for her to be able to use it in an emergency if needed so something with decent battery life?

DD has always had my old iphones, so her first was an iphone 6. In Year 6/7 she got through 3 of them. (I bought replacements for about £70 each time). One breakage wasn't her fault either as her friend through the phone at her. She had the last one up up to year 10 though and when I got a second hand iphone12, she had my X, as the 6 wouldn't upgrade any more.

Spend as little as you can on a smartphone and get the cheapest SIM only deal that you can get. Depending on who you are with you can often get good deals for a second sim, Vodafone just offered me one for £10 a month.

Tesco Mobile have some good deals, Smarty, Giff Gaff etc. The important thing is the signal, there is no point going with the cheapest if it doesn't work half the time.

The rule is that I know all passwords and have full access to the phone, messages etc. If she changes passwords, the app is deleted. TBH I haven't had cause to look at it much
