Daughter just not interested in Christmas

My daughter is 11

I have 2 sons, age 8 and 18.

Youngest still believes and is so excited for Christmas and Santa etc.
My eldest always plays along too and still joins in family traditions, photos etc.

However , my daughter, she couldn’t be less interested about Christmas. She point blank refuses to have her photo taken, her involved in the prep for Christmas etc. All over I see people with their pre teens still fully involved. I feel a little hurt by her dismissiveness , just wondering if anyone else has children the same?

You can’t force her to like Christmas. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea

It sounds like she’s having an early adolescence (plus she may not be a ,
Christmas person). Pick your battles - eg she has to come down for lunch but then she can do what she wants for 2 hours.

Just leave her be

It's fine

There are plenty of adults who have zero interest in Christmas or actively dislike it. Some such adults are forced to go along with it for family reasons, if others in the family like Christmas. The same is true for your daughter, just that she is not yet an adult. Leave her be.

You can't judge her by either the 8 year old or 18 year old's standards. Eldest is old enough to understand and sounds mature enough to play along and enjoy it, also his hormones sounds settled after puberty.

She could be starting puberty in an awkward hormonal phase where she finds the Xmas traditions childish but isn't old enough to enjoy them from a family perspective. I'd just leave her be.
