I’m worried about my 10 year old (y6) DS. He just seems quite low and sad more of the time. He doesn’t talk easily about his feelings and has language delays that make it harder for him. I know SATS are a big worry and he won’t be reassured about these. He’s going to a tiny secondary with his older sibling and okay about that.
Point of my post really was to ask what your DC of this age do for fun. DS doesnt seem to have much at the minute so was hoping for ideas.

Hi, I have a daughter of similar age and a slightly younger son. Have you looked in to something like Scouts for him? DS loves it, they do lots of different activities and also do touch on subjects like mental health & well being. It’s a tricky age as hormones are starting and this can make them very up and down. Scouts is also good as you don’t need a particular interest, so covers lots of kids and as he’s older will be able to go to camp. DS also plays football but joining a team can be harder as they get older. DD goes to Brownies once per week and horse riding lesson.

Same here. Not much in terms of fun and seems low, hormonal, angry. It's as though she doesn't find the fun kiddy stuff fun anymore as she gets older, but isn't old enough to be in to teenaged type stuff either. It's a funny, inbetweeny age isn't it .
