UK 5 & 6 year olds - What do they call handheld video games?

Apologies for the odd question; I want find out what 5 and 6 year olds from the UK call handheld computer consoles like Nintendo switch, gameboys etc. (themselves, rather than the parent). Do they call them computer games? Video games (seems outdated)? Any jargon they actually use when asking for them, or talking to friends is appreciated. Needed for some learning resources. Many thanks.

My dd jhas just turned 7 but she has always used the name, so she would ask to play on her switch or to borrow nanny's kindle, can she watch TV on the ipad etc (she doesn't live on screens, I promise!!)

Mine called them what they are - ipad / switch / kindle etc

Switch, kindle, tablet etc depending on what it is.

Or they say 'I want to play Roblox' Or 'Can I play Animal crossing' or whatever the game name is.

Either what they are like, switch, PSP etc.

Or (hand held) games console.

Can’t imagine any 5 or 6 year old asking for a hand held electronic device.

Its used by my 8 year old - probably because the teacher refers to them in this way since junior infants - as she was probably trying to avoid saying a particular brand name. :-)

Videogames isn’t outdated. Although mostly games covers it.YouTube is awash with video game walkthroughs.

If you were being generic, then (hand held) console would be the answer. But mostly DS would say ‘my switch’.

My DC (8 and 5) just call them 'games'. They would know what I meant if I said computer games though, not so much video game though
