Irregular periods when girls first start - any experience?

DD2 is 11 and has started her periods - except she had one and hasn't had another (it's been two months since her first) DD1 was regular from the start. Have any of your daughters had the same experience? How common is it it for periods to be irregular when they start? Thanks!

I had my first one (age 13) then no more for almost a year

I was irregular for years after starting. Would often go 6-7 weeks without a period . Went on the pill at 18 so obviously had a regular bleed. After dc 2 I stayed off the pill for several months to see what would happen, and they were regular (this was in my early 30's)

Dd1, had her first in august, second in December and 3rd January so they do level out

It’s really common and not a problem for them to be irregular when they start, it can take a few years to regulate them

Mine weren't anything close to regular from the first at 12 until after DC2 at 32!

Started mine at 13. Then only got one every year/year and a half til I was 22. Now 27 with 2 kids. I have PCOS though. Wouldn't worry about a couple of months right at the start I don't know anyone who's were regular straight away

Did had one then nothing for 6 months, a couple almost back to back then about another 3 months! Took a year before they went to a 28 day cycle. My other dd had nothing at all until 16, had a gp referral in place for a specialist because they were concerned then started as regular as clockwork from month one... you really can't tell

my daughter (13) started her period in september. she then didnt have another for over 2 months. shes had about 3 periods in the last 6 weeks. i think for the first 6-12 months they are a little all over the place.

My daughter (12) started just before Christmas. It was quite heavy and she felt shattered but was ok. Next month...nothing!! I was quite surprised it apparently it's v normal. Next month it came again x

My daughter started a year ago. She's had 11 cycles in that time but ranging from 18-48 days! Wearing modibodi knickers have stopped her from being caught out
