My DD has some lovely friends and the families are lovely and happy for her to go there.
However, the children of these families rule. Roost and the parents are very much follow the kids whims.
If there child is at my house it takes the parents nearly an hour to persuade their dd out of my house. When my dd is at Their homes I will be given a time to collect that is never on time as such 8pm yet it’s 9 before actually ready when I to collect as it will oh they are just finishing their pudding at collection time or oh they are just finishing x y z come in for a cup of tea .
Like I say lovely families but I end up looking rude and saying no can she come now because I have x y z . Even now my daughter was meant to be hone at 8 and I have text saying all okay no answer but 45 mins past home Time 😵‍💫

I know exactly what you mean! My DD went to someone's house the other week, a friend from school, and I agreed with th mum that I'd collect her for 5:30pm (she had an activity to attend at 6pm so it needed to be 5:30). Text the mum at 5:15 to say I was on way, text back 'ok' and then I got there, DD is messing about in the garden and the mum offers me a drink. It's very kind of her but I was desperate to get going! If we have a friend visiting here , I make sure they are ready for the mum when she arrives to collect them. Of course if she isn't in a rush she's welcome to stay for a cup of tea but if I know they are in a hurry I'll have the child ready to leave.
