Hi wonderful MN community.
Does anyone have any suggested reads or ref materials for supporting a son through puberty from a mums pov
My DS does have a dad and I co parent, but I don't want to rely on my ex husbands view of things.
Want to be supportive but I don't want to make this really awkward fir my DS.
I noticed my DS has developed rapidly in the last couple of months iyswim.
He's started becoming more private and covering himself up and asking me to leave the room if he needs to change or anything or not come in if he's naked etc.
But I want to be able to support him with any questions he may have or where to go to get answers.
Any advice much appreciated.

I never read a book so can't help you there I'm afraid. The only thing I didn't do, and made DH, was to show him how to shave. There are some good YouTube videos showing you how to shave though, if you want to watch them with him.

There are also some old threads in how to talk to boys about porn.

Thanks for that. I think his dad will teach him to shave. Well I hope so haha!
I wanted to support him with everything and not leave it to his dad

I got DS 2 books,
Lets talk about the Birds and the Bees by Molly Potter
and Puberty Boy by Geoff Price,
I found they complimented each other quite well, the first one is aimed at the slightly younger age group but sort of set him up for the second which covers things much more comprehensively. He has definitely found them useful as time goes on.
