My 15 yr old is pissed off because I won't let him have 3 friends round for a sleepover on Tuesday evening. They're off school on exam leave but everyone else has school and work as usual. On past form they're awake and noisy till all hours and I just can't be bothered with them clumping around the house all morning when I'm trying to work

I asked her to have a shower and got glared at.

I asked her to hurry up and think about her breakfast because her friend's mum. Was picking her up soon

I asked her whether she wanted me to do her hair before or after she had brushed her teeth.

She's snapped at me pretty much every time I have spoken to her today, but having said that, she was up until 11.30 last night because we had visitors so I suspect tiredness has a lot to do with today's mood!

1 I only cook food she hates. I ask her each week to have a look at the food plan to see if there is anything she doesn't fancy but apparently it's still my fault as she's just too busy lying down and scrolling on her phone to do that!

  1. I'm not getting reassured to go food shopping quickly enough. This is after waiting for 3 hours for her...

Sorry not a preteen either. She's 13 so you have these joys yet to come! Gin

How very unreasonable of you. Surely you've figured out how to get the weather to their liking by now? Grin

The latest was when her dad was dropping her off at home early on his request and I messaged him clearly stating to let me know a time as we were nipping out. Ignored and turned up and we wasn’t in of course so I picked her up from her dads half an hour later.

Of course I was in the wrong because her dad and his family are right. I abandoned her and that was it. She wouldn’t let me live it down for DAYS.

Usually it’s something super petty that she is done but the blame will go on her choice of a family member whoever is closest usually at the time Grin but she’s been very good and well mannered recently.

Because I said no to veggie burgers without any buns or bread for breakfast. She wanted a whole packConfused resulted in her texting her dad that I was denying her food when there was nothing in to eat. There was plenty, just not what she wantedHmm

Not a preteen either I'm afraid. She's still at it at 18🥴

Because although DS chose the noodles, stir fry and shredded duck for dinner at the weekend, he didn't want me to make it on a Monday.
