10yo DD breast lump and pain

Hi,
DD 10 has recently started developing (breast buds and the odd pubic/armpit hair)
Tonight before bed she told me her right breast is really sore swollen and hard.
She could barely stand me touching it to see if it was hot (I was thinking some sort of infection?)

Apparently it’s been like this in the morning for the last few days but she was too embarrassed to tell me.
Is this normal in a developing girl?
The pain seems quite severe and definitely only on one side!

Breast buds - they can be sore and they come and go in the run up to full puberty. I still remember how sore they were. If you are worried though you should def check out with a doctor.

Less worried than unsure what to do, she’s wearing one of my stretchy wireless crop tops and that’s helping apparently, and used ibuprofen gel per google advice.
