Washing 10 year old daughter's face

Hi do you use any face care products on a young girls face. I have noticed a few spots and blackheads on my beautiful daughter's nose and forehead. Bought some simple face wash but wondered if it might be a bit harsh for her young complexion?

If your daughter wants to use a gentle facewash I don’t think it will damage her skin. It might not help with her spots though, a few spots are inevitable at this age.

I would try not to draw attention to the spots. If they do bother her, I would explain that it is common and happens to most people, and be there for her to come to if it gets worse.

Just to add, I do sympathise. I had awful skin at this age and in my early teens ended up on an ointment from the doctor which didn’t help at all. It’s a very self-aware age as well.

I’ve had acne since ten years old, now in my mid twenties so I’ve got all the experience!
I would recommend a gentle face cleanser everyday and nothing more at this stage. If she becomes self conscious or bothered by them get a spot gel ott with salicylic acid. Smile

Try cetaphil facial cleanser. You'd get it in Boots. My 11 yr old boy uses it.

Hi OP yes we use a gentle face wash and I let her use a bit of my micellar water with cotton wool

I never had spots at all myself, so I don't really know what I'm doing with DD11, who has some already. She has Simple face wash and face wipes - as much as she wants/needs. I don't ever want it to be a problem for her, and I am reminded again how lucky I was not to have to deal with it myself.

I use a flannel and hot water on my 9 year old's face. He was developing a few blackheads but they've all gone.
I'd be really careful not to use anything to harsh.

We got a Nip and Fab face wash and pads for DD who had a few spots just where her nose meets her forehead, and a witch hazel stick. As long as we keep on top of using those, usually the wash at night when she's in the bath and the pads the next morning, it stays pretty clear.
