11 year old boy and haircut ideas

Hi I was thinking my 11 year old should have more of a trendy haircut/hairstyle rather than my oh with the clippers. I was wondering what you guys did? Hair grades confuse me slightly. My son doesn’t have thin hair and it does grow out quite thick like a haystack! He usually has it quite short to last him the term.

Just take him to a good local barbers, I take my Son also 11 and have no idea about numbers etc. I usually google an image on my phone and say 'something like that please!'

My ds has a number 1 fade on the back and sides and scissor cut on top.
Explain to barber it grows quick so needs to be short and something manageable for DS

What does he want?

DS is also 11 and he has a number 4 on the back and sides blended into longish curls on the top. His hairdresser says that lots of boys his age come in wanting a perm on top but he has a natural one 😂 his school don’t allow shorted than an number 3.

At 11 can't he decide (within school guidelines)? My 14 year old last had his cut at 11, he likes it long.

My DS has a hair cut every 4 to 5 weeks to keep it looking decent rather than termly.

My ds likes his hair longer so he doesn't go for many haircuts

He could probably decide himself. Maybe he could look at pictures of favourite characters/youtubers etc and find a hairstyle he likes - within reason obviously. Take that picture into the barber and they’ll sort it.
