Nearly 8 year old and body odour

My son will soon be 8. We've noticed in recent weeks that on warm days and after lots of exercise he has smelly armpits. The typical sour adult BO smell. He has been for a run today, done a long bike ride and been on the trampoline lots and needed a shower at bedtime despite being shattered as he was smelly! Is this normal for boys his age? He is very tall for his age. Should I speak to the GP or is this is the normal range? Thanks

Don't worry it's all quite normal 😁getting them in the shower at that age is the harder task 🤣

I have noticed this occasionally in my 8 year old son. I thought it was a bit early so it's reassuring others have experienced the same.

Same here! Started just before turned eight. Deodorant is the answer. I got one for children from Ocado but it wasn't good enough, so now he uses adult roll-on.

Ah thanks for the reassurance. I use a nice chemical free deodorant myself so I'll try him on that initially. Stick types sound good too as I'm sure he would nearly gas himself with a spray and that smell would be a different kind of unpleasant!

There's a natural crystal rock salt you can use. I wouldn't use adult deodorant as they contain aluminium.

My son's isn't string enough to warrant a deodorant, just a wash under the armpit with soap regularly
