Daughter and lack of height and puberty

Hi all, I’m new to posting so apologies if I miss anything..
My daughter is 13 next summer and she has always been small. It started to be more obvious at the end of primary when her friends were having growth spurts and it is more obvious now. She is an only child.
She is 138cm tall, grows approx 5cm a year, and is not showing any signs of puberty beginning. I am a worrier, my husband prefers to just wait and see on these things, but I’m concerned that not only about her growth, but that she doesn’t start with puberty and then it’s too late.
Is anyone able to give experiences of similar with their daughters.... and what has the result been?
Has anyone gone to the doctors nhs or private on the same issue and what were your experiences?
Thank you all in advance, any help would be appreciated. xx

Hi, I didn’t start puberty until 14ish (parents took to me to the doctors at 14 as they were concerned) then it all seemed to happen after that. Periods didn’t start until 16 which seemed bizarre (and I’ve always been flat chested) but no damages caused as I’m pregnant with my first 😊
Try not to worry everyone’s different!

If she is tracking along the right lines on the chart I wouldn't be worried. My daughter is tiny, she was born just over the 50th centile but finished up below the 3rd. She dropped very rapidly when she was a toddler but I had one hell of a problem getting anyone to listen to the fact that I was concerned she had stopped growing but finally they did and she was monitored for a long time. Wrist x-rays were taken when she was an early teen which showed her bone development was 2 years behind where it should be which should've meant she would continue growing when most of her peers has stopped but for some reason her growth plates fused at 15 which meant no further growth for her.

Hi bloodywhitecat, thanks for the message - where did she end up height wise then? Was everything else ok in the end?
Xx

She's 152cm as an adult. Everything else is fine as far as we know, she's just small (and fiesty, she's the sort of person who hates to see someone wronged and isn't afraid to say so)

Sounds a lot like my daughter, big on personality. Did you do any other tests apart from the wrist X-ray?
