What age did you all start leaving or would you start leaving your kids at home to pop to the shop?

How long is a 'pop'?

I started going for around 7 minutes with mine at 8, going for longer when they got older

Yea about 10-15 mins

Mine is 10 and all of a sudden has terrible anxiety about whereas used to want me to leave him at home on his own!

I would pop out only if the child was happy; probably from about 8 .i wouldn't leave a preteen who wasn't happy about it .

I think DD was around 9 for the odd trip. When she was 10 she started staying at home on a regular basis for 30- 45 minutes while I went to the supermarket.

I would text her when I arrived and when I left the car park so she knew roughly when I wold be back.

She loves being alone at home though.

I'd do it in theory with my nearly 9 year old. However, the situation hasn't arisen yet! I'd take the younger one with me, although my oldest is very sensible, I wouldn't put care of a 4 year old on her.

My 9yo DS2 pops to the shops for me! 10-20 min round trip.

DS1 was 10 (young Y6) when we started leaving him for an hour or 2. Preparation for secondary school.
