11 year old daughter is driving me mad!

Daughter is 11and a half and has started to massively push it. She talks back, is rude, argues and treats her younger brother and sister like crap!!

She’s lost her phone and it doesn’t bother her!! She causes so many arguments. Today we went out as a family, and she caused such an issue because I said she couldn’t have a stack of 5 pancakes and could have the 3 instead. You would think I had kicked a cat. She then refused to even have anything, and declared she wasn’t hungry.

It's a difficult time. I assume she is in the final few weeks of primary? They think they are all grown up, but secretly very nervous and unsure about the changes of leaving friends, starting secondary etc, coupled with the influx of hormones etc.

I think in many ways, you have to treat them like you did when they were toddlers - ignore the sulks etc as much as possible and reward the good behaviour with lots of attention.

Obviously rudeness and unkindness to younger siblings has to be dealt with. Is there a big age gap between your DD and the other DCs? Does she have time/space when she can get away from them if necessary?
