My daughter is 10 years and 7 months old. She had been tracking at or near the 50th percentile for height since birth, and at about 20th-30th for weight for a number of years now. She has her father's build - slim and long-limbed (I am short and round).
At 10 1/2, she was 140 cm tall and weighed 30.5 kg.
She is among the youngest kids in her class and suddenly among the shortest girls, as most other girls have apparently had a growth spurt. She grew 2 cm in 6 months, so clearly not there yet. When can I expect it? For reference, I am 157 cm "tall" and got my period at 13 y.o., but she doesn't take after me at all. My husband is 185 cm tall, but his mom is my height. No breast buds yet, for what that's worth, a small amount of underarm hair (?! -- I thought that comes last, but apparently it's a normal variation). She suddenly just feels short and small, and I keep telling her she'll grow soon. How and when did your daughters grow? Is the puberty growth spurt really that noticeably different?
