Hair curler for preteen DD?

Could anyone recommend a hair curling tool for my nearly 10 year-old DD for xmas? Avoiding heated tongs and rollers as I don't want her to burn herself (also has toddler siblings). Unsure if unheated rollers work! Help would be much appreciated

I can't remember exactly what they're called but my sister-in-law has these grippy roller things that she rolls into damp hair and clips into place. She then hair dryers her hair whilst the clips are in, and when she takes them out she has nice big curls. I'll try and find what they're called. They take a bit of getting used to as they can be fiddly but definitely suitable for a preteen.
