7 almost 8 yr old. Is there a hormone change at this age?

DS2 is pushing me to my absolute limit. Arguing over every little thing. Even if he is clearly in the wrong he's right, won't have it any other way.

We've just had a complete drama over buying school shoes which is way too long and boring to go into. But he was just being completely unreasonable, contradicting himself, and being downright rude. In a packed shoe shop. I was almost in tears he was just horrible.

I'm wondering if it's hormonal because I know this is not 'him'.

And breathe.....

Has to be because mine is the same. He is 8 this year. He knows everything and he's never wrong either

When he's proven wrong he will deny ever saying what he said!

He gets sent to bed early when he starts because I just can't be arsed with him. It's like having a mini teen

Same. Started to think it was just me with the bratty child! Mind you DD IS 6 coming up 7 and has started now too....fml.

I thought it was dispelled as a myth?

CurlsandCurves · 01/05/2017 17:42

I think there has to be something in it as I've recently seen my old Facebook posts via Timehop from when my eldest was the same age and I was tearing my hair out with him too!

I'm not so sure its hormonal, I think it's just them becoming a bit more independent of us, and wanting to show that by voicing their opinions loudly!

Bumbumtaloo · 01/05/2017 17:48

Dd1 is 8 this year and a nightmare! I'm glad I stumbled across this thread and it's not only us!!

No.

7, nearly 8 year old boys are absolutely vile!!

youokayhun · 02/05/2017 05:45

The thing is...how can hormones be a myth?! They aren't. Sometimes the little angels (Hmm) must wonder what the hell is going on with their brains/body's no? Or not exactly wonder...but like, they don't necessarily know what their problem is either, they could be dealing with all these thoughts and feelings and don't know why?

Its the hormone 'surge' that's a myth. The rest is just growing up.
